	People of the Spirit

**People of the Spirit**

Men and women of the woods,
Dressed in green cloaks and hoods,
Travel the lands to encourage
Truth, Love, and Courage.

Saviors of lesser virtuous folk,
Who need help to stay on the path,
Rangers of Spirituality
Cut through human vices like a swath.

Fierce protectors of their forest homes,
And well-versed in woods lore, too,
They are skilled with many weapons
And a good magic spell or two.

Counselors of the less gifted
In the way of the Spirit,
Rangers see the reality
Of things hidden from those with no wit.

One Ranger of legendary status
Is Shamino, friend of the Avatar.
A Ranger in his very prime,
This man has traveled near and far.

Made of stern material,
He spoke with Authority,
And any resistant troubled soul
Was always in the minority.

Companion of the Avatar
And longtime friend of Lord British,
Shamino was old but hale,
And anything but selfish.

So strong in the Spirit he was,
Even the dead would listen to him.
When he would banish haunting souls,
The living were at peace with them.

Because of the mighty Ranger,
Many good spirits were saved,
But because of the Oppression,
These valiant men and women were waived.

Shamino was no exception
To this rule of Lord Blackthorn.
But he will continue fighting for Virtue,
Until his adventures leave him weary and worn.

Bless the Rangers of Skara Brae,
For their talent in the way
Of Spirits and vague forest lore
Are needed these days even more!
